Yoshio Ojima - Une Collection des Chainons I: Music for Spiral

$37.00

We welcome the first ever vinyl reissue of Yoshio Ojima’s Une Collection Des Chaînons I and II: Music For Spiral, first presented on CD in 1988 and now regenerated by WRWTFWW. A masterwork of Japan’s lauded Environmental strain, the music was conceptualized for sound-design at the Wacoal Art Center in Aoyama, Tokyo, a cultural hub offering visual arts, theatre, music, design and fashion experiences.

The architecture of the Wacoal Art Center, popularly known as Spiral, was executed by Fumihiko Maki. Inspired by the biology of Metabolism, its coiled structure within a large atrium evoked metabolic principles of evolving design and adaptation to human needs. Music For Spiral gently flowed through this remarkable space with aligned intention, detailed, spacious and malleable timbres that blend into and
elevate the anatomy of its design.

Regardless of your listening habitat’s resemblance to such a spiral, Ojima’s minimalistic poetic sound-tides will buoy around existing structures, transforming your area with subtlety and respect. Notes Ojima: "Please listen to this album at around the same volume as daily life sounds such as air conditioners and refrigerators."
