SFV Acid - Fire Zone
Liege of demented electro-funk, SFV Acid, aka Los Angeles’ Zane Reynolds, has released many melted moments over the years to the international likes of BAKK, Big Love, Uno and his own SFV Records imprint. One of our favorite labels, Belgium’s Ekster, presents his latest aerial navigation, a 12-track odyssey christened Firezone. In cognizance with LA’s tragic Summertime blazes; and offering some salvation, like a heroic spaceship come to the rescue of a doomed Earth’s inhabitants; Firezone contains Reynold’s customary dose of humor, wonky beat, rich and phantasmagoric melody and beatific asymmetry. In his idiosyncratic way, Reynolds channels generic threads from electro, modern funk, d’n’b, hip hop, rave and more; adding Baroque vocal sample ornaments and environmental interference for texture. Art work, including a poster, by the artist, whose past designed, hand-printed and painted visual presentations have grown fully wild the world of SFV ACID.
