Sarah Davachi - Let Night Come On Bells End The Day
Faraway feels filled with intimate details: Canadian composer Sarah Davachi brings her latest consideration to most considerate label, Recital, run by Sean McCann.
Known for her fortuitous, even whimsical relationship with instruments, the piano trained sound-in-space enthusiast chooses electric organ, acoustic piano, mellotron and synthesizers as her compatriots in this 41:18 excursion where melodious clusters, like little sonic furrows, meet extended, perfectly placed long-notes, in an experience reminiscent of Elodie.
Composed, performed, recorded and mixed in Vancouver BC and Montreal, QC between July 2016 and January 2017. First Edition of 600 LPs on black wax with three 9″x9″ art prints of photographs by the artist and complimentary CD-edition included.
"This is a lovely album to fill an evening living room with. A blanket, a cup of wine, a dim bulb, a wide window." - Sean McCann
