Pablo's Eye – Spring Break
“Please, seem as Human as possible / I can hear you clearly now / To make the task easier / for those who don’t know / repeat each melody twice / Secrecy and ambiguity / in a gesture like a cone / If double language leads to uncertainty / then please / seem as human as possible / as a gift of the spirit / with strict discipline / a probability of being the solution…” - Double Language, Pablo’s Eye
Pablo’s Eye is an international collective established in 1989 and composing through the 1990s. Founded and led by Brussel’s-based producer Axel Libeert and regularly featuring guitar and voice from Nightfall in Camp members Thierry Royo and Marie Mandi, percussion from Dirk Wachtelaer, violin from Patrick Hanappier, trumpet from Gino Latucca and text from Richard Skinner, the group presented dark ambient music motivated to extend consciousness through transnational collaboration. For Spring Break, Ziggy Devriendt selected and organized tracks albums You love Chinese food; Devotions; Barcelona, architects of; all she wants grows blue and Realismo. The resulting collection is a dreamy, romantic pop-meditation that will be welcomed to the growing canon of ambient music veering toward ever-higher imaginative story-telling possibilities. Released on Stroom, so as always - be quick.
