Les Halles - Zephyr
Les Halles’ tape Transient on Not Not Fun filled much space at Commend in 2016.
Lyon-based Baptiste Martin evokes the element associated with Gemini, Libra and Aquarius like none other, arranging dovetailing flutes amongst whispering keys and suggestions of field-recordings, just enough to give shape to this world made of breath, wind and sighs. While the aptly named Transient was divined from Amerindian flute samples, 2018’s Zephyr is woven even more intricately from the sounds of Slovakian fujara flutes, PVC panpipes, chimes and gong.
