Laila Sakini – Vivienne
Coming off a collaboration of synthetic poetry w/ Lucy Van and gorgeously lush mix for Purely Physical Teeny Tapes, Laila Sakini blesses us with their much-anticipated (at least in our universe) LP debut, Vivienne, for Total Stasis. Comprised of "mostly piano, vocals, efx and unconscious arrangements", Sakini keeps the vibe hauntingly distant and densely melancholic throughout, almost prophetically utilizing domestic isolation as a space for deep introspection.
Tender but emotionally complex, Vivienne's delicate miniatures reach a sonic depth somehow reminiscent of both Erik Satie and Grouper simultaneously. Welcomely soothing to our ears, highly recommended to seekers of dynamically reparative atmospherics.
