Ingus Baušķenieks - Spoki
“My own world differs a little from my friends tastes. And - as my father said - the collective art is not art at all.” - Ingus Baušķenieks
Ingus Baušķenieks' Spoki (Ghosts), represents just the kind of eccentric dream-dub-pop, like the soundtrack from a long-discarded 1980s surreal Eastern European cartoon, that we've come to expect and adore from Belgium's Stroom label. Recorded in Latvia at 'PIE LIELĀS OMAS' and 'BICYCLE SYSTEMS' between 1988 and 2011, with all instruments and male vocals from Baušķenieks and female vocals from Edīte Baušķeniece, Spoki is a delightful dive into (indeciphrable to the English-only-speaking listener) modern fairy tale and unique personal worlding.
