Hessel Veldman / Enno Velthuys – Boezem Ballet / In IJle Lucht
Released via Stroom.tv , Willem de Ridder was a key figurine in the dutch arts & music scene; and played cassettes he received from visitors on his live show, ‘radical improvisation salon.’ During this time, Willem was the first person to air Enno Velthuys music and also convinced him to release ‘ontmoeting’ and ‘landscapes in thin air’ during the early ‘80s. Hessel Veldman, also released his first tape through Willem and VPRO. Starting off with a tape recorder, cassette deck, antique tube amplifier, & guidance of inspirations from dub-reggae and german electronic music, Hessel Veldman was able to create extraordinary pieces.
Bezel Ballet by Hessel Veldman was featured live during the Holland Festival in 1983 at theatre Bellevue in Amsterdam. In Ijle Lucht composed by Enno Velthuys was previously unreleased and is from the private cassette collection of Willem de ridder.
