Haruomi Hosono - Philharmony
Light in the Attic present a selection of Hosono's most beloved solo records, reissued for the very first time outside of Japan. Philharmony was originally released in 1982, the inaugural album of Hosono's Yen label. This writer considers its the Mccartney II of the artist's solo albums - wildly experimental while also glitteringly pop-minded, recorded almost solely (and almost inconceivably) by the artist himself using an array of synthesizers. Any self-respecting neurotic pop fiend shouldn't look past the album's (arguable) anthem, "Sports Man."
