Clan Caimán – Clan Caimán
Argentinian group Clan Caimán was formed in 2016 by composer and producer Emilio Haro, with the intention of creating music generated by group dynamics in a private situation, without an audience present. The quintet's unique sound is organized around the kalimbafón, an instrument created by Haro and made from several kalimbas. It is organically and thoughtfully motorized by percussion from Diego Voloschin (notably without cymbals or snare); lap steel and baritone guitar from Gonzalo Cordoba; guitar from Facundo Gomez and dry, percussive bass from Claudio Luliano. With these sounds it tickles our sense memory, inviting contemplation of various genres while maintaining an altogether idiosyncratic feel. Just the kind of thing we've come to expect and adore from Osaka's EM Records.
