CCMC – Volume Three
Toronto Free Jazz group CCMC played at least two concert a week, mostly at their own venue "The Music Gallery," between 1974 and the early 1980s. A hippie / psychedelic free jazz unit, they defied expectations of all the genres they grazed. Volume Three was originally release in 1978 on their Music Gallery Editions, but the entire edition mysteriously disappeared; now reappearing (in 2013) with thanks to Media City and the Museum Of Contemporary Art, Detroit. Recorded in three sessions the year prior, it features alto sax played by Nobuo Kubota, bass and clarinet played by Al Mattes, percussion by Larry Dubin, Guitar by Peter Anson, piano by Casey Sokol and trumpet by Michael Snow; meeting marimba, electric piano, hammered guitar, plucked piano, bottles, pipes and more.
