Masahiro Takahashi - Omnipresent Windows

Masahiro Takahashi - Omnipresent Windows

$13.00

Quiet soul Masahiro Takahashi caught our attention with his profoundly curated cassette compilation, Sound Journal: Do-Nothing, released by Slow Editions last year. He also released a tape in 2017 aptly called Music of inside the Snail's Shell, an accompaniment to Eunice Luk’s exhibition at VACANT in Tokyo; and has presented a mixtape of his own productions to Berlin imprint Metron, the home of 7FO’s first full-length vinyl release. If you weren’t familiar with Takahashi, perhaps a nice watercolor portrait is beginning to form in your mind… Omnipresent Windows, released by Belgium’s JJ Funhouse label, is a vision of wistful, warbling miniature music; a collection of “micro-memories” made material with swimming synth chords, flutes, bells, strummed guitar and the softest most sea-side holiday-esque of percussion (see “Cloud Bed”). Takahashi has described his creative process as like tending to a miniature garden when he returns home from work; Omnipresent Windows is the perfect vantage point from which to observe this activity.
